TL;DR - I'm breaking our usually 2-week update timing to let you all know that the tile sheet samples look fantastic and have been approved. The tiles are now being die cut. Final assembly will be completed on May 23, ready for freight to begin! Finally! Thank you all for your patience.
Manufacturing
The real test of a manufacturer is not whether or not they ever run into a problem during production. On a long enough timeline, all manufacturers that have the courage to take on innovative projects with a very high expectation of quality will experience challenges or problems. The real test of a manufacturer is how they respond to these challenges.
I am happy to say that immediately after we discovered this problem, GPI immediately brought to bear, without hesitation, all of their resources to resolve the problem with great speed and true professionalism. They even went as far as to send multiple representatives from their office to go China to oversee the factory during the reprint of the affected tiles.
We absolutely appreciate the work from the amazing Jack Scheurich, Mike Fisher and the rest of the GPI team to resolve this problem. I recommend game and gift market creators interested in a manufacturer that will stand behind their work contact them for a quote.
Thank you for your patience
We are in the manufacturing home stretch now. Final assembly for the games will this week, at which point freight will begin. We are extremely happy to have you receive your games and have done as much preparation as possible to ensure the probability for further delays is absolutely minimized. Thank you again to everyone for your patience and unending support. It means a lot to our team.
Will the games hit stores before backers receive them?
A few people have asked this now, so I thought I'd address this in a post. The answer is absolutely not. Backers will ALWAYS receive their Roxley Games before they are available in retail.

Status Report - 2018.04.28 - Component Reprint Continues. Happy Tabletop Day!
– Sat, Apr 28, 2018 at 11:32:31 PM
TL;DR - No news is good news. The factory is working on reprinting the effected tiles (see previous update if you missed it). We are still on target for May 23 for freight to begin. Christopher Lloyd visits Roxley at Calgary Expo. Happy International Tabletop Day!
Manufacturing
As stated above, the factory is busy working on reprinting the affected tiles. They will be providing us with a grey board sample soon to approve while the black tile material for the final reprint is re-dyed. No further delays to report and we are on track for freight to begin May 23.
Gathering of Friends
Gavan, Matt, and his lovely girlfriend Carlyn attended the Annual Gathering of Friends last week. We demoed the game played Brass: Lancashire and Birmingham for a few of those in attendance. The fine gentlemen from Shut Up & Sit Down took a very keen interest in Birmingham, which was extremely exciting for us. We sent them off with one of the production sample copies in hopes that they can do a review for us!
Roxley @ Calgary Expo
Team Roxley is repping in our home town of Calgary Alberta this weekend at the Calgary Expo. Today something amazing happened. Christopher Lloyd signed a Dr. Braun Steampunk Rally promo card, which pays homage to Doc Brown from Back To The Future! Great Scott! I think we need this framed!
Happy Tabletop Day!
As I'm sure you all know, today is International Tabletop Day. We hope each and every one of you are able to disconnect to spend some time with your friends and family playing tabletop games!

Status Report - 2018.04.18 - Birmingham Component Video, Production Delay Update, Iron Clays Photos
over 6 years ago
– Thu, Apr 19, 2018 at 01:33:10 AM
TL;DR - Distant market marker to be delivered this week. Tile cutting problem detected, which requires a tile reprint, causing a delay. Birmingham production sample video below. Matt Tolman has a new tattoo, see a photo below...
Manufacturing
Apologies for the delay on the update. We wanted to ensure we had all the information, and a plan of attack settled before we sent it out.
Distant Market Token - The distant market token has been manufactured and is scheduled to be delivered to the factory this week.
Tile Cutting Problem - In our last update we had mentioned that the sample looked great after going over things with a fine toothed comb. However, upon further inspections it seems we missed something: some of the Lancashire Distant Market tiles had damage around the edges. Upon digging further into the deluxe samples, we realized that this damage was common throughout the deluxe samples we received.
The investigation - We immediately compared this with the proof that we received in December. The inconsistency in the tile cutting was not present in the previous proof. The problem is also not present in the retail edition production sample. The manufacturer then launched an immediate investigation to see if quality issue in the copy we received was simply an anomaly. We did not mention until now because we had to be certain that this issue was not an anomaly before suggesting it was an issue at all.
Last week, the manufacturer then sent us many bags of other tile samples for inspection from throughout the print run. Much to our teams dismay, we have found the problem is present throughout the print run.
Ultimately our team wholeheartedly feels they are just not good enough.
What we are doing to address the issue - The factory will be reprinting affected tiles. We will also take several steps to ensure the problem that caused this is solved. They they will take measures to ensure the die cutting on the reprint is clean and sharp, like the retail edition.
The extremely crappy part is there will be an additional 4 week delay to correct this problem. I have adjusted the schedule to reflect this delay. We will work to reduce the duration of this delay in any way possible.
I am beginning to feel like a broken record here, but I am deeply sorry for this delay and we and we are doing everything in our power to resolve it as quickly as possible. If you would like to reach out to us directly to discuss this, please email [email protected].
The Nature Of Manufacturing & Kickstarter
This is now the third major challenge that has delayed delivery of the game. While this is the first time we have experienced this, there is always a probability for these kind of challenges to present themselves at every part of any manufacturing process. Many of your favorite games would have experienced issues like this during production, but if you purchased it off a shelf or a website, you would not have to witness them. Because Roxley believes in transparency, these challenges are presented for the world to see when using Kickstarter.
Rest assured that while our resolve has been tested in this process, we remain absolutely unbroken. Barring a nuclear apocalypse, we will deliver you a quality game that lives up to our production standards. We are happy with absolutely everything else in the boxes, and we don't anticipate any further production hurdles.
Going forward we will increasing the deliverable date for all Kickstarter projects to better accommodate for worst case scenarios like this.
